Nossa Goa is bringing Goan cuisine to the Garden City of Bangalore! Here to taste their recently introduced Weekend Breakfast menu and was totally looking forward to it ! The place is right at the corner of a traffic junction and is easy to be missed but should not be an issue with people familiar with the Castle Street area , if not Google Maps will take you right at their door step. Spread across two levels, this quaint, feel at home place is a perfect getaway to celebrate goan food. Stylish interiors, different seating options, a bit of outdoors add charm to this resto.
Bakery at the entrance though I did not get to try from this section is a good addition.
‘Feel at home’ vibes also taken care by some indoor games !
Now to the Food – the breakfast menu has varied options like waffles, pancakes, muffins, breads, beverages, combos, omelette variants, sliders and sides ! Majority of it is meat centric with very less vegetarian options ! Here is what I went for –
The Breakfast shakes looked promising and I went with something that sounded very familiar – the Pinacolada ! And no, I did not start my day with a rum cocktail, this one here was a non-alcoholic version and breakfast focused with banana, coconut and pineapple making up the shake ! Banana is what you taste initially, a few sips down and you get the coconut and a bit of pineapple flavour profile as well. It’s a thick shake and very filling too !
Craving for Pork led me to Porky ! Bacon, Sausages, Ham, Fluffy Omelette with Tomato ! Sorted and happy ! Loved the sausages. Omelette was light and eggy ( no don’t search in the dictionary, no such word – just my emotions !). Highlight of the day.
What caught my attention in the menu and yes I was looking for something vegetarian after the porky feast was the bhajji ! These assortments of chilli, potato bhajji which are basically fritters or cutlets are snacks that can be eaten anytime ! Also served were some sheera and poori with some sides! The bajji’s were perfect – not oily, crispy and fried just right and so was the Poori ! What did not work were the sides – too much masala on the bhaaji , probably some chutneys would have helped.
This visit was just to try out the breakfast menu and it ended on a fine note. The rest of the menu looks promising and its authentic goan cuisine which means a few more visits are pending here. Service can be better and needs a push. Valet parking is available. Go for Goa !
