Radisson Jaipur City Center – A Review !

Having experienced the Radisson hospitality before at a few different cities in India, a visit to the Pink city of Jaipur meant another chance to experience the same and this time it was at the Radisson Jaipur City Center

The actual entrance to the property is at the back end while the front view stands out majestically.

Though the regular check-in is at 14:00 , we ended up quite early around 10:00 hours due to a morning flight and they were kind enough to provide us the room upon arrival which we had reserved in advance. The staff at reception counter was at their best in completing the check-in formalities while we were seated at one of these excellent couches in the lobby with an aesthetic ambience.

Now to the room. We had a reservation for a Business Class Room with a King size bed and it was on the 5th floor.

Excellent spacious room with a comfortable bed and cleanliness impeccable. Couch with a coffee table was perfect for in-room dining experience and being a business class room, all the necessary amenities for office related work was available. Lot of different lights in the room and switch boards at both sides of the bed meant it was easy to adjust as needed. One of the phones in the room was a multi-tasker and doubled up as a clock, a radio as well as had a  bluetooth connectivity option I believe. The bathtub was just about the right size and the basic bath and dental amenities was available.

The view from the room opened up to the city with a lot of pigeons giving us company during our stay. The glass windows were locked and protected by nets which was primarily because of pigeons I believe as these birdies were experts in spoiling the cleanliness if you know what I mean.  Also in our view was the metro tracks which meant looking at trains whizzing past at regular intervals which actually was a good sight.

The mini-bar in the room was loaded with real good alcoholic beverages.

House keeping ensured the room was clean and were at service when needed. In-room dining service was good and so was the food. Here’s a glimpse of some of the delicacies that we had – Paneer pakoda , Poori Sagu and we had to have the Rajasthani Thali

The Dining options at the hotel were aplenty with different cuisines and style on play. Mosaic and The Great Kebab Factory was where we had a chance to dine-in and here is the experience –

Mosaic –  This was the adda for a daily sumptuous breakfast buffet and the variety ranged from Indian to Continental spread and including the local Rajasthani cuisine with live counters for dosa, parathas and egg varieties. Some of the top pics for me was the masala omelette, corn upma and chilla.

Mosaic was also our destination for a dinner on one of the nights and they offer both buffet and ala-carte service, we went in for ala-carte and the meal was all great. The restaurant has an ambience in line with the Rajasthani culture and the colorful umbrella’s dotting the ceiling are a nice touch

The Great Kebab Factory – This on-site dining is an experience in itself. Some delectable kebabs served in a sit-down buffet style one after the other followed by mains and dessert is excellent. The wait staff and sous chef ensured we were happy with the food and if any change was needed. Food was served hot and in a good time. The time between serving kebabs is just fine. The ambience is beautiful and the dim lighting ensured the experience is soothing.

Alas these were the only facilities we tried in this hotel in the time we had. We did have a glance at the Roof Top swimming pool with a nice view.

A word of appreciation for all the duty managers who were on top of their work and ensured we were comfortable and requests accommodated. Here’s a snap with one of them , unfortunately I could not recollect the name but the work is highly appreciated.

The hotel also has a gifts, textile and jewellery shops within the premises which enabled us to do some shopping and at prices in par with the market rate. Overall – a great stay at an impressive property.
