Gourmet Jashn Indeed !

                            Axis Bank Gourmet Fest was an excellent celebration of food indeed ! With multiple restaurants across various cities participating in the fest, it was an excellent opportunity for Axis Bank customers to try out some great food at a very reasonable price of Rs.799 per person ! Each of these restaurants had designed a specific menu for this fest and the only thing the customers had to do was introduce themselves as Axis Bank customers and make payment using Axis Bank Credit/Debit cards. The fest was only from Nov 11th to Nov 20th and if you are reading this blog after the 20th, the fest is probably gone but fret not, I think they have this fest annually , so grab your chances.

It was exciting after I got a chance to try out the food at one of the participating restaurants which was Jashn at Le Meridien Bangalore. Jashn has an excellent ambience and seating arrangement and the menu designed for this fest was excellent

The outside seating arrangement is nice. The Swimming pool, the candles, the lighting, the open kitchen makes it a pleasant experience to dine in .

Coming to the food,there were 2 of us which meant an appetizer each. We tried out the Peshawari Paneer Tikka and the Mahi Haryali Tikka. Both excellent in taste and texture. The fish was very soft and flavours perfect to the T.

On the main course, we opted for Subzi Miloni Tarkari on the veg, which was a very tasty mix vegetable gravy with perfect texture,seasoning and good mix of veggies. Mildly spicy just the  way we would have liked it.

On the Non-veg main course, we opted for Tandoori Murgh Masala – chicken gravy at its best, good succulent pieces of chicken, well cooked and yummilicious. The portions of the dishes were perfect as well.

Perfect ending to the meal was the dessert here. Opted for Gulkand ka kulfi and Khubani ka muzaffar. Gulkand especially in a ‘Pan’  is one of my favourites and when the same taste comes in an ice cream, it is heavenly. Kulfi had the right sweetness and gulkand flavor was perfectly balance and not overpowering at all. The Khubani ka muzaffar is a fig based dessert which was something unique at least for me considering I have not tasted something like this before. It was very indulging and refreshing as the final dish of the day. The presentation is impeccable and the quantity good enough for one.

Overall , a wonderful fest, a great meal amidst a perfect ambience ! Not to forget the efforts taken by the chef to design the menu for the Axis bank fest.
