‘The Gadang’ Experience !
Excitement was in the air when the FBAB ( Food Bloggers Association of Bangalore) invite came in to visit the ‘Gadang’ sports bar at Park Plaza Bangalore. This is one place to head to if you are Football fan and want to enjoy watching the Euro cup 2016 live on a pretty big screen with options of some great drinks and chef special tantalizing appetizers for the Euro season and is on till 11th July 2016. The LED screen is one of the stand out of this place and possibly no other place might have such a wide one which makes the experience of watching the Euro cup more lively.
The ambiance of the place is uber cool and screams sports bar across. The couches and lighting are perfect, the bar looks stunning and there are also other gaming options like the Pool table, Foos ball, Dart boards and Chess.
Coming to the cocktails, they have some specials going on for the Euro season and is themed as a tribute to the famous ‘Beatles’ with the specials being labeled based on the songs of this ever famous band.
oB-LA-DI, oB-LA-DI seemed to be the house favourite with a cocktail of Pomegranate, Vodka, curry leaves and passion fruit.
There were also other good options like the Day Tripper ( Coconut and Rum cocktail) and Revolution 9 (Peppercorn infused Vodka) which gives one a nice pepper hit aftertaste. Had also tried the Ginger Punch Mocktail and yes it did punch !
Going well with the drinks were the perfect Chef special appetizers for the season ! Each one had its own stand out signature and a nice fusion of ingredients.
For the Veggies —
The good old Paniyaram ( a dish from down south -Tamilnadu) with a stuffing of onion and chilli with some coconut and onion/chilli chutney to go along with it was perfect and just melts in your mouth after the first bite of crispiness.
The Empanadas with three cheese stuffing and spinach brings Mexican cuisine closer to home and the guacamole as a side completes the dish !
Next were the Mushroom stuffed Wontons served with Mayonnaise. Not to forget the waterchest nuts which gave it a nice fusion.
And to complete the veggie platter was the elusive Sushi ! Yes – you read it right and no it is not a typo from me. This is not your regular sushi associated with raw fish or seafood rather this one was totally vegetarian !!
For the Meat Lovers —
Panko fried Fish chilli which was stuffed with Jalapeno’s , minced lamb and cheddar cheese. From the look of it , it will totally represent a veggie dish giving it an impression of a chilli bajji but try it and the lamb, cheese flavor is a mouthful one cannot resist !
Chicken dumplings wrapped with noodles and fried. First bite taste noodles, second bite taste the fusion ! Crispy bite and soft dumpling – one word – Yum !
Next one was with a twist, an ever refreshing Prawn wrapped on a sugarcane is a combination unheard off ! Peanut sauce was the dip for the prawn and it was refreshing ..
And the last was the actual Sushi – honestly I am not a great fan of sushi and at most of the places I do avoid but I went ahead and gave it a try here and I am glad that I did. It was fresh and did not have that bitter raw taste that I had it framed in my mind.
It was a wonderful experience and definitely a ‘go-to’ place to chill out and unwind after a days work or on weekends They also have Happy Hours offer currently with a Buy one get one Free on selected brands in the weekday evenings and weekends. They also have a separate smoking zone and so is valet parking available which is expected.
Go – Relax – Have fun !
